Introduction
In this section, you will be delivery pizza's across RoboTown. Pizza is expected to be delivered across RoboTown in a certain amount of time, so drive quickly! Make sure the customer gets the pizza while it is still hot. You will use your knowledge of time intervals, clocks, AM/PM, and counting minutes to make speedy deliveries. Hardware Robots (optional) This activity works well with the hardware Linkbots. Place the Linkbot on the RoboTown mat, and see how long it takes for the robot to drive from place to place.

Example 1: Find the Time for a Pizza Delivery
| Steve drives from the pizza parlor to the first house. Find how long it look Steve to drive.
Steve leaves at 6:30. He arrives at to the house at 6:50 . Justification:
"I know that it took Steve 20 minutes to drive to his house. This is because he started at 6:30 and arrive at 6:50. The hour stayed the same, so I just need to look at the minutes." "There are 20 minutes between 6:30 and 6:50 because 50 - 30 = 20. So, the total elapsed time is 20 minutes." |
Example 2: Find the Time for 2 Pizza Deliveries
| Steve drives from the pizza parlor and makes a delivery to 2 houses. Find how long it took for Steve to deliver the second pizza, and then find how long it took for the total delivery.
Steve started at 6:30.
He delivered the first pizza at 6:50. He delivered the second pizza at 7:15. Justify the solutions in your own words. |
