Robot Machine: 4-Wheel-Drive Vehicle


Introduction
In this activity you will be creating a 4-wheel drive robot. Two Linkbots have been set up on the virtual grid, one facing forward and one facing backward. By moving one robot forward and the other backwards with non-blocking blocks, we can make both robots move in the same direction at the same time.

Parts Used in this Project
  • 4 blue wheels
  • 2 Linkbots
  • 6 orange snap connectors
  • 1 gray cube

Instructions
1. Attach 2 blue wheels to each of the Linkbots.
 

2. Connect the Linkbots with a gray cube.

 
Example 1: 4-wheel-drive Vehicle

Use a non-blocking driveDistance block for the first robot and a regular driveDistance block for the second robot to get the two robots to move in tandem 18 units forward. (The second robot has to move backward!)
